Whew! It's been a bit. Busy spring this last year. I have gone full throttle into the "original music scene" once again with not one, but two original projects, along with the work I do with Roni Lee.
First project has been almost a year in the making, as it reunited old friends and has developed into a great modern rock recording project. FairPlay is a band that formed from the ashes of Daddy Issues with former players, Wil Lopez and Cabelo, and has introduced the San Diego Music Community to Alyson Pratte, our leading lady. We are so close to finishing our debut E.P. and we've already played one show under our belt. We will soon hit the airwaves of SD with full force and pick up from where we left off from Daddy Issues, as well as create some more mature sounds as well.
Second project had me joining an already established band in the SD Punk scene, called The Rough. While the music is a bit heavier than many have seen me in, it also has its fair share of energy and catchy hooks that appeal to a bigger audience. The first E.P. was released last fall in 2017, but we're hot on a current release that will hopefully debut this fall. Members include the writing talents of Drew Smith and the drumming guru, Darren Sader. Together, we make a fun group to watch, so be on the look out for more Rough shows coming soon!
Roni updates: We are hot on transforming Play Like A Girl records into something that will help young artist further their careers. A part from mentoring, Roni has an album out in Sept, which I even have a writing credit on! Be ready for some big shows to promote this killer work, such as a Whisky show at the end of August, and maybe even some more touring before the year is out. Like our Oregon Tour 2018!! I'll mention more of that as it comes up. Also be on the lookout for some multimedia work of Roni's that is inspiring yet a bit haunting.
Like I said there's a lot. Needless to say, I've also reunited with the girls of CalAmity. We had a great show at the Casbah and we've been submitting segments for Cathryn Beeks' Youtube Show, "The Listen Local Show." Mine is called, "Jumping Around with Jules," where I'll film the touring I do and give tips and insights on different cities, musicians may encounter. I'll put a link to her channel below.
Ok I think that's a good recap for now! Be on the lookout for more shows on my socials. I'll try to better at updating this site... but for now, chao!
